Basketball Recap: Temple Baptist Academy Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Temple Baptist Academy entered their matchup against Berean Academy on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Temple Baptist Academy Royal Crusaders lost to the Berean Academy Eagles at home by a 65-50 margin. The Royal Crusaders lost against the Eagles in their previous head to head back in February, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 72-32 score last time.

Despite the defeat, Temple Baptist Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Noah Mueller went 8 for 12 on his way to 20 points and six rebounds. Mueller's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Rylan Padgett, who posted 11 points.

Berean Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Daniel Wigginton out in front who put up 16 points. Wigginton is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 16 or more in the last six games he's played dating back to last season. Mayer Weatherly was another key player, putting up 14 points.

Temple Baptist Academy's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-2. As for Berean Academy, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Mount Pisgah Christian Academy the next time they take the court. Temple Baptist Academy will host Mount Pisgah Christian Academy at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, while Berean Academy will host them at 6:30 p.m. on December 13th.
