Basketball Recap: Stratford Makes It Nine in a Row on the Road

Vega typically has all the answers at home, but on Friday Stratford proved too difficult a challenge. They strolled past the Vega Longhorns with points to spare, taking the game 60-46. Given the Elks' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 103rd, while the Longhorns are ranked 235th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Stratford's win was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 24-4. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.9 points per game. As for Vega, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-7.
