Volleyball Recap: Colby Comes Up Short

Colby was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 2-0 to the Mauston Golden Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Golden Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-1 last Saturday.

Daelyn Rieck paced Colby's offense, picking up nine kills. Rieck got some help from Zoe Kaiser and her 13 assists.

Colby's defeat dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Mauston, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.

Colby wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-1 win against Baraboo on the 20th. As for Mauston, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Pardeeville on the 20th.
