Leander has gone 9-1 against Cedar Park recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Leander Lions will challenge the Cedar Park Timberwolves at 7:00 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Leander managed to slip by Hays the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. Leander lost 8-2 to Hays on Tuesday. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Leander got a good showing from Scarlett Geurin, who pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. Geurin has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Rachel Grundei made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-4 with one home run. Cameryn Beckerley also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Even though they lost, Leander hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hays struck out eight times.

Meanwhile, Cedar Park was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 21st straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against Lehman, falling 12-1.

Cedar Park's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Leander, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-6.

Everything went Leander's way against Cedar Park when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Leander made off with an 11-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Leander since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
