Blue Ridge (Lakeside, Ariz.) snapped River Valley (Mohave Valley, Ariz.)'s 7-game winning streak, with a 49-0 victory on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a
Skyler Hill touchdown pass to
Tyler Button in the first quarter, the Yellow Jackets led 28-0 at the half.
Blue Ridge expanded its lead to 49 points entering the fourth quarter. BR scored three times in the third, including once on a touchdown run by Button.
With the win the Lakeside school extended its winning streak to 13 games. The Yellow Jackets defeated the Tigers 57-7 last week.
Button was the top performer for Blue Ridge. The senior running back ran for one touchdown and caught one touchdown. He has now scored eight touchdowns on the season.
BR went into the matchup giving up only 5.8 points per game. The Dust Devils' zero points were well below their season average of 39.1 per game.
The defeat comes as a step back for River Valley, which notched a 58-6 victory over Monument Valley in its previous outing.
