Basketball Recap: Calhoun Christian Takes a Loss

Calhoun Christian was the 78-44 winner over Marshall Academy when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The game between the Calhoun Christian Cougars and the Marshall Academy Griffons didn't end well, with the Calhoun Christian Cougars falling 73-55.

Marshall Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jordan Patterson led the charge by dropping a double-double on 21 points and 19 rebounds. Patterson is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down ten or more in the last six games he's played. Another player making a difference was LaDarrell Harris, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 14 rebounds.

Calhoun Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Marshall Academy, their win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-2.

When Calhoun Christian and Marshall Academy next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Calhoun Christian will square off against Bellevue and their four-game winning streak at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Marshall Academy will try to stop Will Carleton Academy's six-game winning streak when the meet at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
