Softball Game Preview: Centennial Eagles vs. Marriotts Ridge Mustangs

Centennial hasn't had much luck against Marriotts Ridge recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Eagles will be playing in front of their home fans against the Mustangs at 4:15 p.m. Centennial will be strutting in after a win while Marriotts Ridge will be coming in after a defeat.

On Monday, Centennial got the win against Hammond by a conclusive 19-3. The victory continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Golden Bears: they've now won four in a row.

Sophia Reichard was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, seven RBI, and three runs. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Bella Leider was another key player, going 3-for-4 with four runs, three RBI, and one double.

Centennial always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hammond only posted an OBP of .400.

Meanwhile, Marriotts Ridge came up short against Mt. Hebron on Wednesday, falling 11-5.

Marriotts Ridge's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Centennial, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Centennial beat Marriotts Ridge 7-3 when the teams last played back in April of 2025. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Mustangs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
