Softball Game Preview: New Hope Trojans vs. Hamilton Lions

The New Hope Trojans will face off against the Hamilton Lions at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Things were looking good for New Hope after they put the first points on the board on Monday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell just short of East Webster by a score of 7-6. The loss continues a trend for the Trojans in their matchups with the Wolverines: they've now lost five in a row.

New Hope saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaselyn Harcrow, who went 1-for-3 with one home run. Another was Harley Davidson, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Tuesday Hamilton sidestepped Mooreville for a 2-1 victory. The win continues a trend for the Lions in their matchups with the Troopers: they've now won six in a row.

Hamilton pushed their record up to 3-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for New Hope, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.

New Hope skirted past Hamilton 5-3 in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Does New Hope have another victory up their sleeve, or will Hamilton turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
