Baseball Game Preview: Clarkstown North Rams vs. Clarkstown South Vikings

Clarkstown North has won four straight games at home, while Clarkstown South has won four straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Tuesday. The Rams will host the Vikings at 4:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Clarkstown North barely beat Harrison the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Rams put the hurt on the Huskies with a sharp 16-7 win on Monday. The Rams' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Clarkstown South came out on top against Albertus Magnus on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive nine-run seventh inning. The Vikings were the clear victors by an 11-2 margin over the Falcons.

Nick Speckenbach was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits (and only one walk). He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one triple and one RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Justin Amodeo was incredible, going 3-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May of 2024. John Olivieri was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two runs and one double.

Clarkstown South kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in four consecutive matchups.

Clarkstown South is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.6 runs over those games. As for Clarkstown North, they now have a winning record of 7-6.

Clarkstown North took their win against Clarkstown South in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 14-2 score. Will the Rams repeat their success, or do the Vikings have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
