After a string of seven wins, Mount Juliet's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They fell to the Hillsboro Burros 50-45. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Golden Bears of the 65-51 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2019.

Mount Juliet's loss dropped their record down to 18-12. As for Hillsboro, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season.

Mount Juliet and Hillsboro could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings. Mount Juliet will face off against Coffee County Central on Saturday down 80 places (88 vs. 8). Meanwhile, Hillsboro (ranked 169th) will meet Lincoln County (ranked 26th) on Saturday.
