Baseball Game Preview: Louisville Leopards vs. Marlington Dukes

For the second straight game, Louisville will face off against Marlington. The Leopards will face off against the Dukes at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Louisville's pitching crew has only allowed 4.1 runs per game this season, so Marlington's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Louisville took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They never let Marlington get on the board and left with a 4-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Leopards in their matchups with the Dukes: they've now won five in a row.

For Marlington's part, Dylan Heatherington put in work no matter where he played. He tossed six innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Heatherington has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base. He is becoming a predictor of Marlington's success: when he posts at least three hits the team is 4-1 (and 8-10 when he doesn't).

Louisville's win bumped their record up to 9-11. As for Marlington, they dropped their record down to 12-11 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.
