Basketball Recap: North Edgecombe's Winning Streak Snapped at Three Games

North Edgecombe fought the good fight in their overtime match against Southeast Halifax on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 55-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Southeast Halifax Trojans. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Warriors came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 265th, while the Trojans are ranked 591st).

Southeast Halifax got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was O'Tavion Arrington out in front who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. That's the most boards Arrington has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jamarian Webb, who went 5 for 11 on his way to 14 points and five rebounds.

With the defeat, North Edgecombe broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-8. As for Southeast Halifax, with the victory, they broke their 12-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-16.
