Softball Recap: Cony Takes a Loss

If Cony was riding high fresh off their 18-1 takedown of Winthrop on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Rams fell just short of the Belfast Lions by a score of 6-4 on Monday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Rams of the 7-3 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in June of 2025.

Cony dropped their record down to 6-6 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Belfast, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-3.

Coming up, Cony will welcome Winslow at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Rams' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Black Raiders have averaged an impressive 6.8 runs per game this season. As for Belfast, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Morse at 4:00 p.m. on June 3.
