Basketball Recap: Peotone Comes Up Short

After flying high against Milford on Tuesday, Peotone came back down to earth. The Blue Devils fell 60-53 to the Clifton Central Comets on Wednesday. Blue Devils fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Comets since Wednesday.

Blake Chandler was a one-man wrecking crew For Clifton Central. as he shot 46% from the field en route to 31 points and seven rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Chandler has scored at least a third of the Comets' points. The team also got some help courtesy of Conner Unger, who posted 11 points and six boards.

Peotone now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Clifton Central, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Peotone didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 46-37 loss against Streator on the 5th. As for Clifton Central, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 67-45 win against Illinois Lutheran on the 5th.
