Soccer Game Preview: Richland vs. Pilot Point

The Richland Raiders will face off against the Pilot Point Bearcats at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Richland is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Celina just ended the team's three-match winning streak on Friday. They lost 6-0 to the Bobcats. While losing is never fun, Richland can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 124th, while Celina are ranked 35th).

Meanwhile, Pilot Point fell victim to Sanger and their airtight defense on Friday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Indians. Pilot Point haven't had much luck with Sanger recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Pilot Point's loss dropped their record down to 2-13-2. As for Richland, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-2-2.

Richland got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in January against Pilot Point by a conclusive 8-0 score. Do the Raiders have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bearcats turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
