Football Recap: Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian Takes a Loss + How To Watch

If Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian was riding high fresh off their 66-0 takedown of Irvington Preparatory Academy last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Braves were dealt a 56-28 loss at the hands of the Monroe Central Golden Bears on Friday. The Braves were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-14.

Several Braves players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Max Warner, who threw for 240 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 11.4 yards per attempt. A healthy portion of that aerial production (122 yards to be exact) went to Dylan Grimes, who also brought in two receiving touchdowns.

Ethan Hunt had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 133 yards and five scores on only ten carries for Monroe Central. The Golden Bears are 2-1 when Hunt posts 80 or more rushing yards, but 2-3 otherwise. Caleb Luedike also helped out as he racked up 111 rushing yards.

Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season. As for Monroe Central, the win got them back to even at 4-4.

Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian and Monroe Central could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings. The Braves will take on Bluffton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank disadvantage (273 vs. 46). Meanwhile, Monroe Central (ranked 269th) will meet Shenandoah (ranked 119th) at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
