Volleyball Recap: South Salem Falls Short Against Ranked Horizon

South Salem is ranked highly in their home state and on Friday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Horizon. The Saxons fell 2-0 to the Huskies. The Saxons' loss continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Briella Mathis paced South Salem's offense, picking up eight kills. Mathis got some help from Kamree Orizotti and her 19 assists.

South Salem's defeat dropped their record down to 10-4. As for Horizon, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.

South Salem wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Centennial on the 26th. As for Horizon, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Bishop Gorman on the 26th.
