Volleyball Recap: Emerald's Win on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Emerald waltzed into their match on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Saluda Tigers. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 on Thursday.

While Emerald won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The final score came out to 25-11, 25-23, 25-13.

Savannah Dover paced Emerald's offense, picking up 12 kills. Dover got some help from Emily Erskine and her 29 assists. Abby Wright controlled things from the service line, finishing with six aces.

Emerald's victory bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Saluda, they are on an 11-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Looking ahead, Emerald will head out on the road to face off against Strom Thurmond at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Saluda, they will be playing at home against Newberry at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
