New Palestine waltzed into their contest on Monday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Shelbyville Golden Bears. That's more bragging rights for the Dragons, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-12, 25-15.

Dawson Lawless paced New Palestine's offense, picking up nine kills. Lawless got some help from Kameron Engle and his 22 assists. Engle also made an impact serving: he shared the team lead in aces with Maguire Gross, racking up three apiece.

New Palestine's win bumped their record up to 12-5. As for Shelbyville, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.

New Palestine wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 loss against Hamilton Southeastern on the 29th. As for Shelbyville, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Franklin Community on the 1st.
