Soccer Game Preview: Pleasant Valley vs. River Valley

The Pleasant Valley Vikings will venture away from home to challenge the River Valley Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Pleasant Valley's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They skirted past Red Bluff 1-0. The result kept the Vikings happy, as they haven't lost a game yet this season.

Meanwhile, River Valley's undefeated season came to an end after five games on Tuesday. They and Pioneer finished up on equal footing with a 0-0 draw. The draw was nothing new for the Falcons, who haven't lost a game yet yet this season.

River Valley's draw gives them a new season record of 5-0-1. As for Pleasant Valley, their win bumped their record up to 4-0-2.

Pleasant Valley was able to grind out a solid victory over River Valley when the teams last played back in January of 2023, winning 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Pleasant Valley since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
