Softball Recap: Norcom Greyhounds vs. Granby Comets

Norcom extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 2-6. They came up short against the Granby Comets, falling 17-3. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Greyhounds of the 1-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2025.

As for Granby, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2. Considering they have won four matchups by more than 13 runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

For Granby's part, Aj Lomogda made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts Lomogda has posted since back in May of 2025. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, Granby got a massive performance out of Lorelei Powers, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those three hits gave Powers a new career-high. Renata Videcki was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Norcom is set to challenge their familiar foe Maury at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Granby will take on rival Booker T. Washington at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
