Baseball Recap: University School of Jackson Drops Season-High Score on Trinity Christian Academy

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask University School of Jackson). They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Trinity Christian Academy Lions on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for the Bruins in their matchups with the Lions: they've now won four in a row.

University School of Jackson got a great performance from Jeb Bush as he tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits.

At the plate, Nash Kilburn was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. He is becoming a predictor of University School of Jackson's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-1 (and 2-4 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Logan Foster, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

University School of Jackson always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Trinity Christian Academy only posted an OBP of .364.

University School of Jackson's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Trinity Christian Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-9.
