Preview: Neches Tigers vs. Laneville Yellowjackets

The Neches Tigers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Laneville Yellowjackets at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Neches' game on Tuesday was all tied up 19-19 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They took a 55-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of Slocum.

Meanwhile, after a string of 13 wins, Laneville's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell 57-48 to Wells.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Jamorian Williams, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds. He hasn't dropped below 11 rebounds for 11 straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of De'Marea Lewis, who scored six points along with 12 rebounds and six assists.

Neches' loss dropped their record down to 16-12. As for Laneville, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 20-13.

Neches was taken down by Laneville 74-41 in their previous matchup back in January. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Williams, who almost dropped a triple-double on 19 points, 16 rebounds, and nine assists. Now that Neches knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
