Soccer Game Preview: Waco vs. Midlothian

The Waco Lions will head out on the road to face off against the Midlothian Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.

It was a proper cat-fight when Waco faced off against College Station on Tuesday. The Lions and the Cougars finished up their matchup with a 2-2 draw. The result (or lack thereof) was the first time Waco have been dealt a draw since back in February.

Meanwhile, Midlothian hasn't lost a match since January 12th, a trend which continued in their latest game on Thursday. They played to a draw too, finishing 1-1 against Grapevine. Midlothian's defeat signaled the end of their eight-game winning streak.

Their goal came courtesy of Macie Griffin, who's now up to 33 this season.

Midlothian's draw gives them a new season record of 16-3-4. Meanwhile, Waco's record is now 8-8-3.

Waco might still be hurting after the 6-0 loss they got from Midlothian when the teams last played back in January of 2021. Can the Lions avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
