Baseball Recap: Fulton Find Success

Fulton proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by ten) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past the Breckenridge Huskies 2-1. The win continues a trend for the Pirates in their matchups with the Huskies: they've now won five in a row.

Carson Litwiller spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up eight Ks. Fulton is 2-1 when Litwiller allows one or fewer earned runs, but 2-3 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Fulton saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Parker Duflo, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Gibby Jason also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

The victory got Fulton back to even at 4-4. As for Breckenridge, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-4-1.

Coming up, Fulton will challenge Boyne City at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Breckenridge, they will head out on the road to face off against Ashley at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
