            Baseball Recap: Sherman Tide vs. Tug Valley Panthers        
        
		
        
        
            For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last five times Sherman and Tug Valley have met, but the home crowd finally got their W  on Tuesday. The Tide sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  3-2  victory over the Panthers. While the Tide didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-16-1), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

  Chase Southern was  excellent,  scoring a  run and  stealing two bases while  getting on base  in two of his three plate appearances. He is becoming a predictor of Sherman's success: when he posts  at  least two  stolen bases the team is undefeated (and 2-3 when he doesn't).
Sherman pushed their record up to 6-3 with the  win, which was their fourth straight  at home. The  home  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Tug Valley,  they are  on  a  five-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 1-5.
 Coming up, Sherman will welcome Elk Valley Christian  at 6:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for Tug Valley, they will take on Van at 5:30  p.m.  on Thursday. The Panthers are facing the Bulldogs at the right time seeing as the Bulldogs are stuck on  an  eight-game losing streak.
