Football Recap: Eastwood Starts Season with Defeat on the Road + How To Watch

Eastwood kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They were dealt a 66-7 defeat at the hands of the St. John Bosco Braves. While losing is never fun, the Troopers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' football rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 278th in Texas, while the Braves are ranked second in California).

Kingston Jeffries threw for 114 yards and one touchdown. Jude Walker was his top target, picking up 79 receiving yards and one TD.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead St. John Bosco to victory, but perhaps none more so than Koa Malau'ulu, who threw for 137 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 passes, and also punched in one rushing score. DJ Tubbs was another key pass catcher, picking up 78 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

St. John Bosco's win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0.

Looking ahead, Eastwood will venture away from home to face off against Chapin at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for St. John Bosco, they will host St. Frances Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
