Basketball Recap: Brownell Talbot Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Brownell Talbot had lost five straight headed into Saturday's game, but Avery Nichols didn't let it get to six. The Brownell Talbot Raiders secured a 41-35 W over the Cedar Bluffs Wildcats on Saturday thanks in part to Nichols, who posted 22 points along with seven boards and three steals. She continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.

Nya Ping was another key player, putting up four points and eight rebounds. Those eight rebounds gave her a new career-high.

Brownell Talbot's win bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Cedar Bluffs, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 5-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Brownell Talbot will challenge Conestoga at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Cedar Bluffs, they will face off against Dorchester at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Dorchester will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something Cedar Bluffs surely won't give up without a fight.
