Basketball Recap: Oreste Yong Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Del Campo

After losing to Del Campo the last time they met, Roseville decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Roseville Tigers strolled past the Del Campo Cougars with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 67-52. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Tigers.

Roseville's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Oreste Yong, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 18 rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Yong a new career-high in assists (four). Tyler Ritter was another key player, going 7 for 13 en route to 16 points along with five assists and five boards.

Roseville smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 18 consecutive matchups.

Roseville has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season. As for Del Campo, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-11.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Roseville will venture away from home to square off against Nevada Union at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Nevada Union knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past ten contests -- so hopefully Roseville likes a good challenge. As for Del Campo, they will head out on the road to face off against Yuba City at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Yuba City is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.6 points per game this season.
