Volleyball Game Preview: Basha Bears vs. Chandler Wolves

Basha is 0-9 against Chandler since April of 2021 but things could change on Friday. The Bears will head out to square off against the Wolves at 5:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Basha is headed into Friday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their seventh straight game on Tuesday. They came up short against Hamilton, falling 3-0.

Meanwhile, Chandler faced Casteel in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Wolves fell just short of the Colts by a score of 3-2. The Wolves have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Chandler actually scored more points across those five sets (100-94), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 18-25, 11-25, 25-19, 15-11.

Basha will have to keep a close watch on Anthony Quintana and Ethan Dye, a pair of players who had a big impact on Chandler's prior game. Quintana had 11 digs and two assists, while Dye had 21 kills and 14 digs. Dye is on a roll when it comes to kills, as he's now had five or more in each of the last 28 games he's played.

Basha's loss dropped their record down to 12-16. As for Chandler, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-11-1.

Basha might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from Chandler in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Can the Bears avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
