Soccer Game Preview: McHenry vs. Grayslake North

The McHenry Warriors are taking a road trip to take on the Grayslake North Knights at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. McHenry's last four contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Last Wednesday, McHenry and Mundelein finished up on equal footing with a 1-1 draw.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Grayslake North). They were the clear victors by a 6-1 margin over Crystal Lake South on Tuesday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

The win made it two in a row for Grayslake North and bumps their season record up to 3-0-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored ten goals over those two games. McHenry's draw gives them a new season record of 1-1-2.

McHenry suffered a grim 4-1 defeat to Grayslake North in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Warriors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
