Baseball Recap: Estero Comes Up Short

Estero came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the LaBelle Cowboys/Cowgirls, falling 15-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Wildcats have suffered since April 16, 2024.

Rocco Colombo was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one triple. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in RBI.

Estero's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 8-4. As for LaBelle, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-6.

Looking ahead, Estero is taking a road trip to challenge Mariner at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mariner is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season. As for LaBelle, they will welcome Riverdale at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
