Basketball Recap: Westminster Comes Up Short

Westminster was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They fell 59-52 to the Santa Ana Saints. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Lions of the 64-58 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in November of 2021.

Despite the loss, Westminster still got an impressive performance from Sean Le, who posted 33 points.

Santa Ana's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Pedro Moran, who scored 18 points. That's the most points Moran has posted since back in November of 2024. Issac Alvarez was another key player, putting up 15 points.

Westminster's defeat dropped their record down to 5-14. As for Santa Ana, the win snapped their losing streak at nine games and leaves them with a 5-15 record.

Westminster has already played their next game, a 69-32 loss against Valencia on the 17th. As for Santa Ana, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 65-37 victory against Buena Park on the 17th.
