Softball Game Preview: Sardis Lions vs. Etowah Blue Devils

The Sardis Lions will take on the Etowah Blue Devils at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Sardis' pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so Etowah's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Sardis' usually-dominant pitching crew will be looking to make up for Friday's struggle, when Madison County hitters got past them. The Lions came up short against the Tigers on Friday, falling 15-1.

Meanwhile, Etowah suffered their closest defeat since March 13th on Saturday. They fell just short of Ider by a score of 6-4. The Blue Devils have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Sardis has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 26-13 record this season. As for Etowah, their loss dropped their record down to 19-17.

Sardis skirted past Etowah 6-4 in their previous meeting back in March. Will the Lions repeat their success, or do the Blue Devils have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
