Recap: Cold Springs Eagles vs. Locust Fork Hornets
The Cold Springs Eagles entered their tilt with the Locust Fork Hornets with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Cold Springs walked away with a 58-49 win over Locust Fork on Monday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Cold Springs also won the last time the pair played back in January.
Cold Springs got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Maci Brown out in front who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Bruer, who almost dropped a double-double on 19 points and nine rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Locust Fork lost, one person who can't be blamed is Faith Evans. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 25 points and 12 rebounds. That was a full 51% of Locust Fork's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Hope Evans, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds.
Cold Springs is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 24-4 record this season. As for Locust Fork, their defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 19-5.
