Volleyball Recap: Westridge Tigers vs. Flintridge Prep Wolves

If Westridge was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Jurupa Valley on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Tigers came up short against the Flintridge Prep Wolves on Tuesday, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wolves this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in August.

Westridge took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-18, 25-23.

Bennett Thein paced Westridge's offense, picking up 12 kills. Thein got some help from Katherine Labao and her 16 assists. Labao was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Ashlyn Nam had a dynamite game For Flintridge Prep., getting 38 assists and 11 digs. That's the most digs Nam has posted since back in September of 2024.

Westridge's loss dropped their record down to 14-10. As for Flintridge Prep, the win (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 18-2.

Westridge will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Rio Hondo Prep at 5:15 p.m. on the 13th. As for Flintridge Prep, they will challenge EF Academy at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
