Volleyball Recap: Southeast Whitfield County Raiders vs. Chattooga Indians
Southeast Whitfield County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Chattooga Indians. The Raiders were not able to make up for their loss to the Indians from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-12.
Emily Vargas paced Southeast Whitfield County's offense, picking up seven kills. Vargas got some help from Briana Fraire Hernandez and her six assists.
Chattooga was led to victory by Brooklyn Morris and Briana Finley. Morris had six digs and four aces, while Finley had six digs. That's the most aces Morris has posted since back in September of 2024.
Southeast Whitfield County's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Chattooga, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-0.
Coincidentally, Southeast Whitfield County and Chattooga will both be playing Gordon Central the next time they take the court. The Raiders will head out to face the Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Indians will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
