Softball Recap: Sequoyah Chiefs vs. Loudon Redskins
Sequoyah was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 17-8 to the Loudon Redskins. The Chiefs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Redskins earlier this season, when they won 10-7.
Kadence Sutton was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Faith Ferree also deserves some recognition as she scored her first runs of the season.
Sequoyah's defeat dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Loudon, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 5-5.
Coincidentally, Sequoyah and Loudon will both be playing South-Doyle the next time they take the field. The Chiefs will head out to face the Cherokees at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, while the Redskins will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
