Softball Recap: Starkville Takes a Loss

Starkville lost against Clinton back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Starkville Yellowjackets lost 19-1 to the Clinton Arrows. The Yellowjackets just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

Starkville saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Leigh Parker Morgan, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.

Starkville's record is now 5-10. As for Clinton, they now have a winning record of 8-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Starkville will head out to take on Choctaw County at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Starkville has given up an average of 9.9 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Clinton, they are taking a road trip to challenge Northwest Rankin at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
