Baseball Game Preview: Atlantic Trojans vs. Lewis Central Titans

Atlantic hasn't had much luck against Lewis Central recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Trojans are taking a road trip to challenge the Titans at 5:30 p.m. Lewis Central took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Atlantic, who comes in off a win.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Atlantic and Shenandoah meet (four straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Thursday. The Trojans narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Mustangs 8-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Trojans have posted since May 24, 2024.

Meanwhile, Lewis Central came up short against Sergeant Bluff-Luton on Saturday and fell 4-1. The Titans haven't had much luck with the Warriors recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Lewis Central's defeat dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Atlantic, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-6.

Atlantic suffered a grim 11-1 defeat to Lewis Central in their previous matchup back in June of 2024. Can the Trojans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
