Baseball Game Preview: Gulliver Prep Raiders vs. Miami Springs Golden Hawks

The Gulliver Prep Raiders will venture away from home to square off against the Miami Springs Golden Hawks at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Gulliver Prep easily dispatched Ransom Everglades on Saturday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Raiders fell just short of JC Bermudez Doral by a score of 2-0 on Monday.

Meanwhile, Miami Springs entered their contest against Varela on Wednesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Golden Hawks fell 4-0 to the Vipers.

Miami Springs got a good showing from Anthony Espinoza, who tossed 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Espinoza has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

Miami Springs suffered their first home defeat, dropping their record down to 17-3. As for Gulliver Prep, their loss dropped their record down to 4-19.

Everything went Gulliver Prep's way against Miami Springs in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Gulliver Prep made off with a 13-3 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Raiders since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
