Softball Recap: Mabel-Canton Cougars vs. Houston Hurricanes        
        
		
            
 Mabel-Canton's game  last Monday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them  on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Houston Hurricanes  and snuck past  4-2. This was payback for Mabel-Canton, who suffered  an  11-0  defeat the last time these two teams met.
  Tylar Wenthold spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned  (and one unearned) run on two hits and racked up 15 Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't  tossed less than nine  strikeouts every time she's  pitched this season.
 At the plate,  Hope Erickson was  excellent,  scoring two  runs while going 2-for-4.
 The  victory  got Mabel-Canton back to even at 2-2. As for Houston, their loss dropped their record down to 7-4.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mabel-Canton is on the road again  on Friday to play Lyle/Pacelli at 4:30  p.m. As for Houston, they will  challenge Rushford-Peterson at 4:30  p.m.  on Thursday.
