Basketball Recap: Shore Regional Comes Up Short

If Shore Regional was riding high fresh off their 44-24 takedown of Middletown North last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Shore Regional Blue Devils were outmatched by the St. Rose Purple Roses and fell 65-29. The Blue Devils were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-15.

When it comes to explaining why Shore Regional lost on Thursday, don't look at Reese Fiore. Despite the final result, she posted 16 points and three steals. Fiore is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games she's played. Emma Madison was another key player, putting up three points along with seven rebounds and three blocks.

Shore Regional's defeat dropped their record down to 13-10. As for St. Rose, the win was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-2.

Looking ahead, Shore Regional will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Arts at 1:00 p.m. As for St. Rose, they will head out on the road to take on Albertus Magnus on Saturday.
