The Hammond Morton Governors will head out on the road to face off against the Hammond Bishop Noll Warriors at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Hammond Morton has given up an average of 7.3 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
On Thursday, Hammond Morton earned a 16-11 victory over Whiting. The Governors haven't had any issues with the Oilers recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Analiya Feliciano was incredible, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with five stolen bases, four runs, and two RBI. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last eight times she's played. Juleeana Temores was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
Hammond Morton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .591. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Hammond Bishop Noll was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-0 heartbreaker at the hands of Illiana Christian.
Madelynn (Maddie) Queen spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on six hits.
Hammond Bishop Noll's loss dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Hammond Morton, their record is now 9-3.
Hammond Morton's speedy runners might be the difference in Monday's contest. The Governors have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 10.2 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Hammond Bishop Noll, though, as they've been averaging only 1.3 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Hammond Morton continue to outrun the ball?
Hammond Morton might still be hurting after the 17-0 defeat they got from Hammond Bishop Noll in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Governors avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
