Conotton Valley came tearing into Wednesday's game with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Catholic Central Crusaders by a score of 8-3. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 8-0 on May 5th.

Dylan Higgenbotham was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jerrod Peterson, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Garrett Reiter, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Conotton Valley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They are 10-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Conotton Valley pushed their record up to 16-8 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Catholic Central, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-11.

As of now, neither Conotton Valley nor the Crusaders have any future games scheduled.
