Softball Recap: Southern Lehigh Takes a Loss

If Southern Lehigh was feeling good fresh off their 14-2 takedown of Wilson Area last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Spartans fell just short of the Pen Argyl Green Knights by a score of 4-2 on Friday. The match marked the Spartans' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Isabella Germani was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs.

Southern Lehigh dropped their record down to 6-4 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Pen Argyl, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-2.

Coming up, Southern Lehigh will take on Easton Area at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Spartans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Rovers have averaged an impressive 7.2 runs per game this season. As for Pen Argyl, they will square off against Catasauqua at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
