Football Game Preview: Southwestern Trojans vs. Falconer/Cassadaga Valley/Maple Grove Herds

The Southwestern Trojans will challenge the Falconer/Cassadaga Valley/Maple Grove Herds at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Southwestern is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

Southwestern gave up the first points on Friday, but they didn't give up any more after. They came out on top against Clymer Central/Sherman/Panama by a score of 27-14.

It was another big night for Bradyn Fuller, who rushed for 204 yards and three TDs while picking up 11.3 yards per carry. Fuller is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 117 every time he's taken the field this season.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Southwestern was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 274 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 266 rushing yards in three consecutive matchups.

Southwestern didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Trent Lewis and Adrian Torres.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Falconer/Cassadaga Valley/Maple Grove's offense. They were beaten by Chautauqua Lake/Westfield/Brocton 42-0 on Friday. Having soared to a lofty 48 points in the game before, the Herds' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Falconer/Cassadaga Valley/Maple Grove now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Southwestern, their victory bumped their record up to 7-0.
