Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bunker Hill). Everything went their way against the Gillespie Miners on Monday as the Bunker Hill Minutemen made off with an 81-56 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Minutemen.

Bunker Hill's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Cole Yates led the charge by putting up 32 points. That makes it six consecutive games in which Yates has scored at least a third of Bunker Hill's points. Pete Jarden was another key player, scoring 20 points.

Bunker Hill's win ended an eight-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-11. As for Gillespie, their defeat was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-12.

Bunker Hill didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 61-24 victory against Dupo on the 14th. Gillespie has also already played their next contest, a 76-66 loss against SIUE East St. Louis Charter on the 16th.
