Thompson faced Hewitt-Trussville in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Warriors fell just short of the Huskies by a score of 8-7. The Warriors' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Thompson's loss dropped their record down to 39-5. As for Hewitt-Trussville, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 31-16-1 record this season.

Hewitt-Trussville has already played their next game, a 5-2 defeat against Tuscaloosa County on the 6th. Hopefully Thompson paid attention to the Huskies' contest: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Huskies on Tuesday.
