Soccer Recap: Denison Comes Up Short

The Denison Yellow Jackets came up short against the Anna Coyotes on Tuesday, falling 6-1. While losing is never fun, the Yellow Jackets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 494th, while the Coyotes are ranked 186th).

Denison has also traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season. As for Anna, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.

Denison and Anna's offenses will be put to the test in their next games. Denison will take on Walnut Grove at 7:15 p.m. on February 18th, a team that's only allowed 0.38 goals per game. Similarly, Anna and Lovejoy (who has only given up 0.23 goals per game) will meet at 7:15 p.m. on February 18th.
